At Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services (SAAS), we believe every student should have an equal chance to succeed. We work hard to give you the help and tools you need to do well in school and in life. Your experience matters to us, and we are here to support you throughout your time at U-M.
SAAS has four teams that work together to support disabled students at the University of Michigan:
- Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD): Gives disabled students the support they need in classes and housing.
- Academic Support & Access Partnerships (ASAP): Offers workshops, coaching, and other programs to support disabled students' academic success.
- Testing Accommodation Centers (TAC): Provides a quiet place for disabled students to take tests and helps faculty make sure students get the testing help they need.
- Adaptive Sports and Fitness (ASF): Helps disabled and non-disabled people at the university and in Ann Arbor learn about and join in sports and fitness activities.
SAAS Vision
We envision an academic experience, a campus, and a world that values equity, accessibility, inclusion, and belonging for all.
SAAS Mission
We lead the shared work to change perspectives around disability, dismantle systemic barriers, and provide individualized support for disabled students at the University of Michigan.
