Getting around our busy campus is simple, and there are lots of resources to help disabled people move from place to place safely and easily.
Paratransit Services
University of Michigan Transportation Services offers curb-to-curb paratransit service for students, faculty, and staff who are unable to use the fixed-route campus system. Disabled students get approved for this service through the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). Disabled staff, faculty, community members, and guests go through the Disability Equity Office.
Paratransit runs all year, but only on weekdays. You can use it to get anywhere within three-quarters of a mile from the Ann Arbor campuses, the East Ann Arbor Health Centers, or Domino’s Farms. Rides can be scheduled as early as 7:40 AM and as late as 10:30 PM. You need to book your ride at least 1 business day in advance. A contracted vendor, Golden Cab, provides off-peak and extra rides.
Most Paratransit requests are answered within about three business days.
